Turtle Tour

Description

The tour starts at our office, located 50 meters south of Tortuguero’s main pier on the main street. After a warm welcome we will check in. One of our hosts will share a small talk about the activity and will organize the groups (there will be no more than 10 people per guide). Later, we will mobilize between the different sectors that are located along the beach; Depending on the sector that we are assigned, we will make the decision of whether we are going by boat or not. This is because there are some very remote sectors that require the use of this transport.

Once located in our respective sector (base), the guide will provide information on the life cycle of sea turtles, as well as some interesting facts about this impressive reptile. The base is the place where we will wait for the right moment to enter the beach. Turtle tracker will indicate the exact point where the turtle is located. Once at the site, our main objective is to closely show, at least one of, the four allowed spawning processes. And why not? With luck we can see all four processes.

Once we finish our encounter with the turtle, we will proceed to retire from the beach, and after sharing their opinions about the experience, we will take the road back to the starting point of the tour to finally say goodbye.

Highlights

• The sector and the schedules for the tour are assigned exclusively by the national park; neither us nor our clients can choose the time nor the sector. The park will be giving us the permit at around 5:00 p.m., and it is done through a “lucky” lottery. That is why, we require your presence in our office at 5:45 p.m., to check-in the activity and, give you the schedule for the tour.

It is very important to make it clear that no type of technology is allowed during this activity (no cameras, no cell phones, etc.). This will be a moment that you will carry in your memory.
